The Similarities between Print Media and Broadcast Media

In fact, many news outlets—e.g., NPR, BBC—are both print and video-based and publish news in both mediums from the same news infrastructure.





Broadcast media and print media differ in terms of delivery methods. Print media is limited to visual communication including newspapers, magazines, and billboards. Broadcast media used audio and audiovisual communications including television, radio, and the internet. Print media involves writers and editors. Media is the term to describe the means and methods of communication, storage, and delivery of information. Media includes print media, news media, photography, cinema, broadcasting, digital media, and advertising Media. 



Print journalism is presented in written form and appears in newspapers and magazines. While it may include pictures, illustrations, or graphs, print journalism is intended to be read. Broadcast journalism is presented through video or audio on television, radio, or the internet. Print media reaches its audience through a visual medium only, whereas broadcast media reaches its audience through audio and audiovisual means.The length of news differs significantly in both print and broadcast media. In a newspaper for example, journalists can write into great details about a news event, whereas in broadcast media, it is not the same. With broadcast media, journalists are limited time during which news has to be given. The journalist telling the story of an event in print media has the opportunity to elaborate on the story but a reporter in the broadcast media usually gives a summary of the news event.
